Spartan Square is the name given to the area in front of the new city hall in Crestline Village where engraved bricks will be placed. The idea for Spartan Square came from students in the Leadership Mountain Brook class. These students want to sell bricks with current and past residents of Mountain Brook names engraved on them. These bricks will be placed around the area where the fountain was in front of city hall. The students’ main goal in this project was to raise money to fund future Leadership Mountain Brook projects. When the tornados hit Pleasant Grove on April 27th the students’ agreed they wanted to help and decided to give some of their profit to Pleasant Grove to help with tornado relief. As the project grew and became more of a reality the number of engraved bricks grew. The original goal was to sell around 200 bricks now that number has grown to over 1,000. Each brick will sell for $100.  For more information, contact Hannon Davidson at the Mountain Brook Chamber of Commerce at hannon@welcometomountainbrook.com.
