Holiday Parade Info 2009
Holiday floats, a marching band, music, elves, photos with the Mayor and Jeff Cook, lead guitarist from the group, Alabama, who will arrive on a FIRE TRUCK - all to be a part of the Holiday parade with a new longer route through Mountain Brook Village. Merchants in Mountain Brook Village will be open Sunday from 2 - 5. Parade begins at 2:15 PM. Plan to line the streets for surprises from the floats! The procession will meander through historic Mountain Brook Village on Cahaba Road, Culver Road, and Petticoat Lane. Lots of surprises are in store, but the special guest will arrive in his traditional fashion.
PARADE ROUTE: The parade will begin and end at Mountain Brook Elementary parking lot. Parade participants will meet at 1:15pm in the parking lot of Mountain Brook Elementary on Heathermoor Road. Floats will get the placement numbers and then line up on Heathermoor Road that runs along the side of Mountain Brook Elementary. The parade will begin at 2:15pm and will proceed to turn right onto Cahaba Road. The stage will be set up in the middle of Mountain Brook Village and will be facing Bromberg's. The parade will then continue to follow Cahaba to and will turn right at Barton Clay Jewelers. They will continue down Culver Road and turn right onto Petticoat Lane. The parade will continue on Petticoat Lane and will turn right onto Culver Road passing Daniel George Restaurant. Then the parade will turn left onto Cahaba Road and then left again onto Heathermoor Road and ending at Mountain Brook Elementary parking lot.

Don't forget to
come prepared to SHOP! Remember, the stores will be open from 2:00 to 5:00 and there will be festivities throughout the villages with music, face painting, and lots of holiday shopping specials. The music will start at 1:00 PM. The parade will have floats, dancers, performances from some of the parade participants, antique cars and fire trucks, and other interesting participants. You won't want to miss it!
Jeff Cook, lead guitarist from the group, Alabama, will be riding with The Mayor, Terry Oden. Songs from his new album "Christmas Joy" will be featured!
And please bring CANNED GOODS for Cub Scout Pack 320's Food Drive to benefit local charities. Drop off will be next to Avo/Dram. More information and pictures are posted on the blog. MOUNTAIN BROOK GIVES BACK!
